Want leopards? Yala is your best shot in Sri Lanka, hands down \u2014 it&#8217;s built its reputation almost entirely on its high density of Sri Lankan leopards, with Block 1 the hotspot. But be ready for company \u2014 Yala gets far more crowded than other parks, with long waits and jeeps jostling for the same sighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If elephants and breathing room matter more, Udawalawe is the clear winner \u2014 huge herds are almost guaranteed, while Yala sightings are less predictable since elephants there roam in smaller groups. It&#8217;s also far less crowded, which completely changes how immersive the experience feels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My honest take: if you&#8217;ve got two days, do both. If you&#8217;ve only got one, ask yourself \u2014 leopard hunt or peaceful elephant herds?
